Brisbane Adventures Part 2

We're back for part 2! It's been a very eventful month here in Brisbane but I'm starting to calm down a little and enjoy myself now. The stress of finding a new home and getting settled into Brisbane is fading and now it's the excitement of exploring our new home. So here's a little of what I've had on and some really exciting events coming up!

On the home situation: We are finally in our last Airbnb because in exactly 1 week, we will be in our new home! Ahh!! I'm so excited to finally be home. The little things like changing my address on everything I can think of (I found some places that still had an address from 3 homes ago!), getting all the utilities accounts set up and making sure we will have internet set up as soon as we get there, they are little glimmers of happiness that's helping the anxiety calm down. 

We went for a little walk around one of my new campuses and found the cutest little possum living right next to the QUT art gallery! It was adorable! This campus is right in the middle of the city but I won't be spending much time there. It was lovely to scoot around on the e-scooters but I'm happy to be living and studying a little out of the overwhelming city.

Leo and my son are going really well with all the moving around and have learned to settle in really well. For a 15 year old cat, I'm surprised he's been as happy as he has been but I guess he needed the change as much as we did!

Now for the exciting news!

 I was asked recently to be a presenter at the Design Pattern Create Summit! This is an online summit for sewists all over the world and I was so happy to be given this opportunity. I have been asked by many people wanting to get into corsetry, if there was anything specific they needed to know before they started their first corsets. So I decided to create a tutorial and all the tools, techniques and practice steps everyone needs before they even start their first corset. My presentation will be a video tutorial called 'Make your first Corset' and it comes with a PDF download to go with it. 

There is also a VIP group in the summit that gets even more so I'll let you know more details as soon as I can! The summit will be held May 5th to 9th, 2025. It's an online summit with tutorials being held during specific times during the 5 day summit. There's presenters from all over the world and all disciplines in sewing and fashion. I'll share more info as soon as I can xoxo

There is a lot I'm currently working on for the Corset Making class to get it fully finished (since I had to pack it all up and move half way through the class) and I have been keeping everyone up to date in the Corset Makers community. If you're in the class, head over to the community and check out the video I posted today!

My mind is finally clear enough that I am able to plan out exactly what I want to do with this class in the future and I'm so excited. Like ridiculously excited for what I want to do with the class! 

I am also going to put any future classes on hold so I can do a full audit of everything I have in the school right now and make sure it's where I want this school to be. I have been through a few of the classes already and I know there's a lot I need to add to ALL OF THEM. From more videos, pdf downloads and instructions on so much more. It's coming! I want this school to be a really great resource to begin and grow everyones dressmaking, from beginner to pro. So let's do this!
